When Adsense was introduced in 2003, thousands of small publishers worldwide were very happy as it allowed them to monetise their content without much additional effort. However, over the last few months , I have observed that whatever I do, however much traffic I get to my websites, my Adsense income remains the same.
Some of the reasons could be:
1. There are problems in Adsense ad serving technology. Now I load alternate ads instead of Public Service Ads (PSAs) and was very surprised to notice that a very large number of times PSAs are shown on my websites. If I spend time and money driving traffic to my website, and they are only shown Public Service Ads, I am obviously wasting my time.
2. The advertisers have managed to perfect the art of getting visitors to their website while keeping the CPC low, maximising their own returns and reducing the income for publishers.
One Adsense alternative which pays out regularly through Paypal is Bidvertiser.
